HISTORY
Formerly known as Subsea Networks, IRIS (Integrated Remote Intelligent System) Technology was formed in 2001. Subsea Networks was founded in April 2001 following the successful buy in/buy out by former management and existing employees of the Technology Division of Kongsberg Simrad Ltd. The name change was imperative due to the incompatibility of the old name with the rapidly growing number of target markets.
As an experienced technology company, we thrive on breaking down barriers to meet and exceed our customers’ requirements with tailored innovative solutions. IRIS Technology is committed to enhancing its existing product range and continually developing new technologies.
The flexibility of our core technologies - digital video, data acquisition, data compression and data telemetry - breaks down traditional boundaries allowing cross-fertilisation between markets. IRIS Technology’s leading products and key technologies are currently developed to satisfy the needs of four main markets: the Offshore Subsea, Automotive, Medical and Military industries. IRIS Technology’s roots lie within the Offshore Subsea market and the company has built up a prestigious client list, which includes ExxonMobil, Statoil and Subsea 7. A subsequent development contract with the Motor Industry Research Association (MIRA) created a substantial entry to the automotive market. The Medical and Military markets of IRIS Technology are currently in their development stages, however, they house enormous potential for successful exploration.
